As you might expect of AVForums, the forum for all things audio visual related, there have been a fair few threads on the Hitachi Ultra Thin series. Especially given the current special offer in the UK at Richer Sounds. AVForums is a great source of info and some kind souls have posted up their settings for the 42 inch version of this television to help the rest of us get the best picture we can.

A nocebo is like a placebo, only it's purely power of suggestion. Imagine being told you've just inhaled a microbe that will cause you to break out into a rash, and so you do.....even though you just breathed in normal air. That's a nocebo. How utterly utterly bizzaro.....

On the lookout for a lovely new LCD TV to complete my transformation into a yuppie prick. I wonder if the Hitachi UT series is the way to go - basically a glorified computer monitor, these things sure are skinny. Since I can't get terrestrial tv in my neighbourhood, I have to rely on something like freesat to actually bring me a television signal. So in a way a monitor is all I need. Forget the actual television tuner. Of course, this does make the bloody thing the most expensive monitor I've ever seen.
